Yoga Nidra for the Afternoon

Today, let’s relax with a Yoga Nidra practice. On days when a nap feels like just the thing my body is calling for, I often turn to yoga nidra, a practice of conscious rest that is sometimes translated as “yogic sleep,” though it is not quite sleep, and not quite meditation in the usual sense either. Rather, it invites the body into deep relaxation while awareness remains present. For this practice, you will need a quiet place where you will not be disturbed and you may lie down, on a yoga mat or a bed, for about half an hour.
